The film: Van Gogh: Of Wheat Fields and Clouded Skies

The film presents a new perspective on Vincent van Gogh seen through the eyes of the holder of the world's largest private collection of his work: Helene Kröller-Müller (1869-1939). Between 1908 and 1929, she bought some 300 paintings and drawings by Van Gogh.

Discover the story of the Van Gogh's burning passion for art in this stunning film which brings together 40 remarkable paintings and 85 drawings from the Kröller-Müller Museum in Holland.

The story is based on the fascinating correspondence between Helene Kröller-Müller and Vincent Van Gogh. The letters concern the art and artistic quality and technique, as well as the importance of the drawings being the base of the paintings.

Focus Filmtheater Arnhem

Last week I saw the film at a fully airconditioned cinema in Arnhem, which was a great place to stay because of the film of course and, at that particular day, also because of the weather!
