A rare object in our collection is this cover of 'mother of pearl'. A very detailed engraving on both sides shows hunting scenes. It has been beautifully made bij Jan Bernard Barckhuizen (1684-1760), who was originally working as iron engraver.
A similar engraving by this artist has been acquired bij the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
