Review on artworks by Jit Nieuwenhuis at China Expositions:
‘Finding inspiration in music and the natural world, the artist uses the bodywork of Tai Chi (taiji) and Chi Kung (qigong) to create spontaneous and immediate effects in her art. She sees herself as both composer and choreographer of her work, studying musical performances as both subject and inspiration.”There’s an enormous amount of being direct in my style of painting and drawing” she says.
Producing mostly figurative art for the exhibition, the artist reveals a variety of mature styles and an accomplished grasp of abstract work. Nieuwenhuis’ work mainly belongs in private collections in Netherlands and the US. She exhibits in Germany, Netherlands and Greece’.
